Jitterbugs Music (Age 2)

Class 30 Minutes weekly
Course length: 12 months

Jitterbugs music classes provide an exciting yet secure early learning environment, where children are encouraged to share a love of music, together with learning to socialize within their age group.

Introduction to early music fundamentals such as:

  • Rhythm – using percussion
  • Aural – Listening skills
  • Pitch – singing songs
  • Movement and action
  • Musical craft
  • Musical games

Little Beebopper (Age 3)

Classes 45 minutes weekly
Course length: 12 months

Is a structured, yet unpressured program aiming to develop all aspects of early music fundamentals for this most receptive age group.

Each Class Involves: Singing to encourage pitch, percussion to develop rhythmic skills, action and movement for gross and fine motor coordination, music appreciation for listening, lots of musical games, learning to work in a group and ideal environment for developing social skills and new friendships. LOADS OF FUN!!!!

 

Pianorama Courses (Ages 4 and up)

Class maximum of 10 students, grouped within a 6 month span. Each student is provided with a digital piano for use in the classroom.  An unpressured atmosphere, but effective structured program taught by fully qualified music specialists.
 

Junior Music (Ages 4, 5, 6)

Classes 45 minutes weekly
Course length: 24-48 months (depending on student progress)

Incorporates all fundamentals for practical and musical development for the beginner student. An emphasis on aural (ear) training expedites the learning process and the students’ develop of the components of musicianship and technique simultaneously.

Students learn:

  • Piano  – practical learning, with solo and ensemble experience
  • Singing – to develop pitch and aural
  • Percussion – to develop rhythmic skills
  • Theory/musical games – for confirmation of reading notation and musical elements
  • Music Appreciation – understanding of musical structure and creativity

Intermediate Course is for Junior Course graduates, to further expand musical and technical skills acquired thus far. The students learn to become more musically independent and work at a more comprehensive level. The course covers repertoire, technique development, solfege aural concepts, harmonic extension, theory worksheets and ensemble and individual practical work.
 

Primary Course (Ages 7 and up)

Classes 45 minute weekly
Course duration: Ongoing

A beginner course in which all technical and musical concepts are covered through repertoire and technical finger play, exposing the student to all styles of music. This is integrated with keyboard and percussion ensembles for rhythmic development, music appreciation for the understanding of musical structure and creative awareness and the opportunity for solos and ensemble work.

Students learn:

  • Aural/ Reading / Rhythmic Skills – An effective listen / sing/ play/ read
  • approach to music ensures that all the necessary musical skills are developed simultaneously.

  • Technique – Attention to good finger technique enables the student to achieve
  • optimum results on the piano both now and in the future.

  • Theory – Relevant examples in the lesson ensure that the student
  • understands how to read and write music correctly as well as comprehending the symbols and terminology.

  • Performance – The student may become a confident performer both in group
  • and as soloist, aided by peer support and the confidence that comes from regular exposure to playing in front of others.


Extension Course is for Primary and Intermediate Course graduates. All musical styles of repertoire with a technical development program are covered at this level. This, together with the acquired musical awareness, enables the teacher to work with the students in composition, improvisation, keyboard harmony and theoretical worksheets.
 

Adults  (Ages 18 and up)

Adult Course develop students in beginner, intermediate and advanced levels to explore music education, piano instruction and theory in the contemporary world. All classes are based in the essential elements of musicianship were every students plays and sings all their musical selections.

Music Workshops are designed to increase overall understanding of music in variety of ways.
